The Federal Capital Territory Administration has reaffirmed its resolve to raise a generation of bold thinkers by nurturing creativity and entrepreneurial skills among students.

This assurance was given during the grand finale of the FCT-Brunel Innovation Challenge, held in Abuja on Monday, where students from various schools showcased cutting-edge ideas aimed at solving real-world problems.

The competition, a joint initiative of Brunel University Business School, London, and the FCT Education Secretariat, drew attention to the power of innovation in education.

Speaking at the event, Mandate Secretary of the FCT Education Secretariat, Dr Danlami Hayyo, represented by Mr Siyanbola Olumuyiwa, described the students’ innovations as proof of what becomes possible when education is guided by vision and leadership.

He hailed the support of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, whose commitment to education has driven transformative partnerships.

“Whether or not you go home with an award today, you are all pioneers of a future powered by innovation,” Hayyo told the students.

Director of the FCT Secondary Education Board, Dr Mohammed Ladan, called the contest a space “where creativity meets opportunity,” urging students to dream big and push boundaries.

Glisten International Academy emerged winner, followed by Government Secondary Schools Gwagwalada and Kwali.
