Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has clinched the 2025 Ebony Shoe Award, emerging as the best African player in the Belgian Pro League.
The KRC Genk forward received the honour at the African Awards gala held at the Tangla Hotel in Brussels.
At just 24, Arokodare lit up the league with twenty goals and six assists, spearheading Genk’s campaign and earning a deserved call-up to the Super Eagles for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
He now joins an elite list of Nigerian greats to win the coveted award, including Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Godwin Okpara, Celestine Babayaro and Paul Onuachu.
The recognition has further boosted his profile, with Premier League sides Fulham and Newcastle reportedly circling.
Genk has placed a twenty million euro valuation on their star man, who continues to rise on and off the pitch.
