Panic gripped Wuse 2 in Abuja on Thursday as a fire erupted at The Avenue Mall, sending thick black smoke into the sky and drawing a stunned crowd of onlookers.
The blaze, which broke out at 27 Alexandria Crescent near Newton Park, quickly consumed parts of the building, as captured in a now viral video posted on X.
The footage shows fierce flames shooting out of the structure while passersby stood in disbelief.
At press time, the cause of the fire remained unknown and emergency responders had yet to release an official update.
There was also no immediate confirmation of casualties or the full scale of the destruction.
Details are still emerging as efforts to contain the inferno continue.
