The Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), has pledged full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Federal Government’s push for clean energy through the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), initiative.

In a keynote address delivered to the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment and her team of professionals on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Association—representing tricycle owners across the 19 northern states—commended the Tinubu administration for its bold economic reforms, democratic leadership, and dedication to service delivery.

Speaking on behalf of TOAN’s Executive National Chairman, Alhaji Tata Suleman, and the Central Working Committee, Mr. Augustine Aboapeh, National President of TOAN, praised President Tinubu’s commitment to accountability and inclusive governance, describing him as an “inspiration to the growing populace.”

“We are here to applaud Mr. President’s unparalleled leadership and focused drive to reshape Nigeria’s future,” the statement read, adding that TOAN fully aligns with the national vision for a cleaner, more efficient transport sector through the Pi-CNG initiative.

The Program Director of the Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI), Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi, joined the Minister in receiving the delegation.

TOAN expressed readiness to collaborate with the federal government on regulatory frameworks and technical support to ensure widespread CNG tricycle adoption.

The group also called for infrastructure support, including the establishment of a functional national secretariat to aid its operations.

Highlighting the environmental and economic benefits of CNG-powered vehicles, the association pledged to help drive energy transition, create youth employment, and deepen national economic growth through the transport sector.

TOAN’s message was one of solidarity, patriotism, and firm belief in the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda as a vehicle for a prosperous Nigeria.
