Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, has stirred fresh debate after declaring that the French giants are thriving more without superstar Kylian Mbappe, who left for Real Madrid last summer.

Donnarumma made the bold remark following PSG’s 2-1 triumph over Arsenal, which sealed their place in the UEFA Champions League final.

Addressing reporters after the match, the Italian shot-stopper said Mbappe’s departure has reshaped the team’s mentality and chemistry for the better.

“The spirit has changed, we are much more of a team. We play for each other,” he told Prime Video.

Though he acknowledged Mbappe’s talent and friendship, Donnarumma insisted the current squad’s unity is powering their success.

“We miss Kylian, he is one of the best in the world and I wish him all the best because he is a great friend,” he said. “But the team is very united, we’re doing well together. We (Italy) won a European Championship like this — it makes all the difference in every team.”

With their eyes set on Champions League glory, PSG seem to be soaring, even without their former talisman.
