The Vigilante Group of Nigeria has officially confirmed Yabo Maji Micha as the substantive commander for the Federal Capital Territory, marking a new chapter in grassroots security coordination.
The announcement was made by the Commander General of the group, Usman Muhammad Jahun, during a special parade held at the VGN headquarters in Abuja.
Jahun, represented by Deputy Commander General for Special Duty, Adaji Ibrahim, praised Micha’s dedication during his six-month stint in acting capacity and urged him to sustain the momentum.
In his response, Micha pledged to deepen collaboration with other security agencies, particularly the police, and encouraged his team to remain alert and professional in their duties.
He also commended the six FCT area council chairmen for approving a monthly allowance of twenty thousand naira for each vigilante officer, describing the gesture as a morale booster.
The FCT Police Commissioner, C.P Ajao Saka Adewale, represented by CSP Abubakar Ibrahim, applauded the VGN’s role in community safety, stressing the need for continued synergy in tackling insecurity across the capital.
