The United Nations has commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration for its determined and coordinated fight against sexual and gender-based violence in Abuja.

During a visit to the Awyetu Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Bwari, UN envoy Dr. Najat M’jid lauded the FCTA’s collaborative strategy, which brings together key sectors including health, justice, and women’s affairs to support survivors and drive prevention.

Dr. M’jid described the synergy as a model worth replicating, noting its impact in addressing the complex layers of gender-based violence.

In response, FCTA officials acknowledged lingering hurdles but stressed their unwavering resolve to strengthen services and protect vulnerable populations across the capital.
