The Labour Party has slammed an indefinite suspension on Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Federal Capital Territory, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, and three members of the House of Representatives over alleged anti-party conduct.
National Secretary Umar Farouk Ibrahim made the announcement on Wednesday, stating that the National Executive Committee reached the decision after deliberating on the findings of the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
“The National Executive of the party met today and after exhaustive deliberation has ratified the recommendations submitted by the Disciplinary Committee,” the statement read.
Effective immediately, the affected members are barred from all party activities.
Reiterating its political stance, the Labour Party also ruled out any merger or coalition talks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
