Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has stunned fans by announcing his decision to leave the club at the end of the season—triggering a wave of anger and emotional reactions from supporters.
After two decades at Anfield, the 25-year-old confirmed via social media that he will not renew his contract, effectively ending his time with the Reds after their chase for a 20th league title.
The move paves the way for a potential free transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
“This is easily the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” Trent said in a heartfelt post, thanking fans, staff, and teammates while explaining his desire for a new challenge.
But many supporters didn’t take the news kindly. Furious fans flooded his timeline with scathing comments, branding him a “snake,” “Judas,” and “rat.” Others accused him of betraying his boyhood club for leaving on a free transfer after flirting with the move for years.
Still, amid the storm, some fans offered warm farewells, thanking Trent for his service and wishing him well.
With just three games left in a red shirt, the clock is ticking on one of Liverpool’s most iconic modern careers.
