The Independent National Electoral Commission has refuted viral reports claiming that voter registration and PVC-related services will resume on May 27, calling the information false and misleading.
INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, issued a firm clarification via the commission’s official X account, stating that no date has been set yet for the resumption of Continuous Voter Registration or for transfers and replacements of lost Permanent Voter Cards.
He urged Nigerians to ignore unofficial reports and assured that any updates would be announced only through INEC’s verified platforms.
According to him, the public must rely on accurate information to avoid confusion ahead of future elections.
The commission’s statement comes amid growing anticipation for the reopening of voter services, especially with key elections on the horizon.
“Please disregard any online publication that claims otherwise,” Oyekanmi emphasized, reinforcing the commission’s commitment to transparency and orderly communication.
