The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is set to arraign popular social media figure Martins Vincent Otse, known widely as VeryDarkMan, on multiple charges linked to alleged financial crimes.
Otse, who has been in EFCC custody since his dramatic arrest outside a Guaranty Trust Bank in Abuja on April 2, 2025, will appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The commission is also seeking a remand order to hold him pending the commencement of trial.
His arrest, carried out in collaboration with the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force, follows a series of heated exchanges between him and the anti-graft agency.
Otse had previously accused EFCC officials of bribery and claimed in February that there were plans to frame him.
The EFCC insists that the charges are part of a wider push to combat financial misconduct and reinforce public trust in Nigeria’s financial system.
Specific charges are expected to be unveiled during court proceedings.
