Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, has commended the pace and quality of ongoing construction on the Abuja to Kaduna to Kano highway, describing the project as a significant boost to national infrastructure.
Speaking during a site inspection of the Zuba section on Sunday, Goronyo praised contractor Infiouest Nigeria Ltd. for deploying reinforced concrete pavement technology designed to last up to one hundred years.
He described the project as a key part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda to modernize transport systems.
Six kilometers of the road have already been completed, with officials highlighting the use of rigid pavement as more resilient than traditional asphalt, especially given Nigeria’s heavy traffic and challenging terrain.
The road, once completed, is expected to reduce travel time, enhance trade and logistics, and contribute to improved security across the northern corridor.
