The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has issued a strong warning to Air Peace, demanding immediate solutions to frequent flight delays and cancellations that have sparked a surge in passenger complaints.
In a closed-door meeting held on May 2 in Abuja, Director General of Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo, ordered the airline to stop overscheduling flights beyond its available fleet, stating that the era of overpromising and underdelivering is over.
“The travelling public deserves honesty and reliability,” Najomo said, urging the airline to realign its schedule with its actual operational capacity.
He emphasized that continued disruptions would no longer be tolerated.
Air Peace officials admitted to operational setbacks and described them as common within the aviation sector, but they assured the NCAA that efforts are ongoing to improve service delivery.
While pledging support for domestic airlines, Najomo stressed that compliance with aviation regulations and international standards remains non-negotiable.
He also revealed that the Authority is ramping up its monitoring of all carriers to enforce higher levels of safety and service consistency.
The NCAA’s move signals a tougher stance on accountability, with passenger satisfaction now taking center stage in the face of growing concerns over domestic air travel.
