The Federal Government is set to launch a digital ethics portal by the end of 2025 to fast track health research approvals and align Nigeria with global best practices.
Revealed at a stakeholders’ workshop in Abuja, the platform will enable researchers to submit proposals, make payments, and monitor review progress entirely online.
Officials confirmed that pilot testing will begin ahead of a full rollout in the third quarter of next year.
Backed by the Gates Foundation and other international partners, the initiative is designed to eliminate bottlenecks, enhance transparency, and attract foreign research collaborations.
