The Federal Government has declared Thursday May 1 a public holiday in celebration of this year’s Workers Day, honoring the dedication and contributions of Nigerian workers.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.
Dr Tunji-Ojo praised the resilience and commitment of Nigerian workers, noting that their sacrifices remain central to the country’s development and global standing.
He emphasized the importance of national peace as a foundation for sustained industrial growth and economic progress, urging all workers to continue playing their roles in building a stronger Nigeria.
