Abdullahi Ango, the new Mandate Secretary of the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat, Federal Capital Territory Administration, has charged staff to embrace a renewed commitment to service delivery and efficiency.
Speaking after a weeklong meeting with directors, heads of projects, and specialized units, Comrade Ango emphasized the need for teamwork and urgency to fulfill the Secretariat’s mandate.
He rolled out an immediate action plan, including comprehensive assessments of abattoirs, veterinary clinics, and farm infrastructure.
He stressed the swift distribution of seeds, fertilizers, and equipment to farmers ahead of the rainy season.
“We must move fast, work smart, and show total dedication,” Ango said. “Our farmers are counting on us. The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must be seen in our work.”
He also outlined plans to empower Agricultural Extension Agents with training and tools, while forging stronger public and private sector partnerships to boost agribusiness investment across the Territory.
Ango announced that he would embark on a facility tour of Area Councils to engage farmers, stakeholders, and development partners directly, aimed at speeding up the implementation of agricultural programmes.
The Secretariat staff responded with enthusiasm, pledging full support for the new leadership and a strong commitment to achieving greater service delivery.
