The Federal Capital Territory Administration has shut down Myra Event Centre in Guzape for disturbing the peace with loud noise.

The Abuja Metropolitan Management Council ordered the closure on Thursday following repeated complaints from residents.

Coordinator of the council, Felix Obuah, said the centre’s activities, especially at night, posed a serious nuisance to the public.

Obuah noted that the action was in line with the administration’s wider clampdown on environmental violations.

He warned that any facility found breaching noise control rules would face the same fate.

He urged residents to stay alert and report offenders, adding that the FCTA will not tolerate any act that endangers public health or disrupts community life
