The Federal Government has officially declared the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna, Niger State, as an alternative to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The move is aimed at easing congestion at the Abuja airport while improving the overall efficiency of air travel within the region.
The decision, announced on Monday, marks a strategic boost for aviation in North Central Nigeria and offers airlines and passengers an additional operational route.
Officials believe this development will strengthen regional connectivity, enhance airport services, and stimulate economic activities in Niger State.
Further details regarding operational readiness and timelines are expected in the coming weeks.
