Hunger: Boy 11, Falls, Dies Plucking Mango to Eat

A tragic cloud settled over Bugakwo community in Kuje Area Council following the death of an 11-year-old boy, Joshua Samson, who lost his life after falling from a mango tree.

Eyewitnesses say the young boy climbed the tree in search of mangoes but lost his footing and plummeted to the ground, hitting his head on a stone beneath.

One of the boys who accompanied Joshua reportedly dashed home in tears to alert his parents.

They rushed to the scene and hurried him to the Kwaku Health Centre.

Sadly, medical personnel confirmed him dead on arrival, citing severe head trauma.

“He died from serious head injuries,” a resident, Danjuma, told our reporter.

He added that the boy was buried shortly after and that the incident was not reported to any security agency.

The tragedy has left many in the close-knit community heartbroken and shaken.
