A major industrial action is set to hit the Nigerian Meteorological Agency as workers prepare to down tools indefinitely beginning Tuesday, April twenty second.

The looming strike is being championed by three major aviation unions, who accuse NiMet management of failing to implement key aspects of a collective bargaining agreement reached in January.

In a strongly worded letter, the unions highlighted unresolved wage disparities, unpaid entitlements and what they described as the agency’s disregard for staff welfare.

“All NiMet staff are directed to withdraw services indefinitely,” the unions declared, urging other aviation workers to stand in solidarity.

As the deadline approaches, the agency is yet to issue a formal response, leaving the fate of critical weather services hanging in the balance.
