The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has urged believers to use the Easter season as an opportunity to show compassion and extend support to those suffering and marginalized in society.
In a Easter message released on April 20, the President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not only a symbol of hope and victory but a call to action for Christians to reflect Christ’s love in practical ways.
“As we celebrate Easter, let us be intentional in acts of kindness and charity,” he said. “Reach out to those who are hurting, forgotten or abandoned. This is how we give life to the message of the resurrection.”
Archbishop Okoh also called on Christians to strengthen bonds of fellowship, embrace spiritual renewal and commit to building a more just and caring society.
He encouraged followers of Christ to promote peace, unity and dialogue, not only within the Church but also across communities and faiths.
“The resurrection affirms that light will always triumph over darkness. Let us live out this truth by becoming beacons of hope in our nation,” he stated.
CAN’s message concluded with prayers for a peaceful and harmonious Nigeria, urging all citizens to draw strength from the victory of Easter.
