In a major crackdown on crime, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested 78 suspects during coordinated raids across several districts in Abuja.
The late-night operation, which took place on April 19, targeted notorious black spots and uncompleted buildings in areas such as Tungan Maje, Kubwa, Jabi, Nyanya, Kabusa, Karmo, Utako, Dawaki, and Gwarinpa.
According to security sources, the raids began around 11:40 pm and were based on actionable intelligence.
During the sweep, police recovered dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other banned substances.
All suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at their respective police divisions. Authorities say those linked to criminal acts will be charged accordingly.
The operation, according to the police, is part of a sustained effort to clamp down on criminal elements and reinforce security across the Federal Capital Territory.
