Tragedy Strikes as Lagos Building Collapses

Panic and sorrow gripped the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State on Saturday morning after a building housing a local restaurant, Equal Right, collapsed on Oremeta Street, leaving many feared dead.

The tragic incident, which occurred around 8 a.m., caught occupants and nearby residents by surprise.

Eyewitnesses described a thunderous crash as the structure gave way, trapping people beneath the debris.

Emergency responders swiftly mobilized to the site, joining forces with local volunteers in a desperate search for survivors.

Shovels, bare hands, and heavy equipment were employed to clear the rubble as hopes remained high for those still trapped.

Residents and passersby stood in tense silence, watching and waiting for news, while officials worked tirelessly to manage the unfolding crisis.

As of the time of filing this report, the number of casualties remains unconfirmed, but officials say efforts are ongoing to rescue those still believed to be under the ruins.
