The Federal Capital Territory Administration has introduced fresh conditions for land allocation in Abuja, warning that failure to meet the new requirements within a strict timeline will result in automatic disqualification.

The new framework, approved by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, will take effect from April twenty-first.

It mandates a three-step process for all successful applicants seeking Statutory Right of Occupancy in the nation’s capital.

Under the updated rules, applicants must collect their Letter of Offer and accompanying land documents, make full payment of all fees and charges, and submit a completed Letter of Acceptance with proof of payment. This entire process must be concluded within twenty-one days of the offer.

Any delay beyond this window will void the offer, and payments made afterward will be declared invalid.

A notable shift in the policy grants allottees a two-year window for plot development, a move aimed at encouraging swift but well-planned construction across the territory.

The Department of Land Administration, in a public notice, said the revised terms are part of wider reforms designed to enhance transparency and promote responsible land use.

Prospective landowners and stakeholders have been urged to study the updated conditions and ensure full compliance.
