As the Easter celebration draws near, the Federal Road Safety Corps has issued a strong call to motorists across the country to drive responsibly or face the consequences.
Speaking from the Ifo unit command, Memee Timothy of the FRSC cautioned drivers against common traffic violations such as speeding, dangerous overtaking, and driving against traffic.
He stressed that the festive season should not become a period of avoidable road crashes and loss of lives.
To ensure order on the roads, the FRSC will be out in full force.
Timothy revealed that personnel will be strategically deployed to control traffic flow, swiftly respond to emergencies, and arrest defaulters.
Top on the list of offenders are drivers with overloaded vehicles and those operating without a valid license.
“This Easter, we are prioritizing safety and zero tolerance for recklessness,” Timothy said. “Motorists must obey traffic rules and cooperate with our officers to ensure a smooth and accident-free celebration.”
The FRSC’s intensified presence on the roads underscores its commitment to protecting lives during the busy holiday period and ensuring that families reach their destinations in peace.
