Controversial music sensation, Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has secured bail set at ₦1 million in Ilorin, Kwara State, amid swirling allegations of defamation and public incitement.

The Upper Area Court delivered the ruling on Monday, following his dramatic arrest over accusations of criminal defamation, intimidation, cyberstalking, and incitement of public unrest.

As part of his bail conditions, Portable is required to produce two sureties of equal sum.

One must be a top executive of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, while the other must own land in a Government Reserved Area, supported by a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

The latest twist in Portable’s turbulent career comes after Fuji music icon, Saheed Osupa, lodged a petition accusing the singer of defamation, threats to life, character assassination, and conduct capable of breaching public peace.

Kwara State Police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed that the petition led to Portable’s arrest, adding that police investigations had uncovered substantial evidence warranting his arraignment.

Known for his audacious public persona and frequent brushes with the law, Portable now faces an uphill legal battle as proceedings continue.
