The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecast a nationwide spell of sunshine mixed with thunderstorms from Monday through Wednesday, urging citizens to prepare for volatile weather.

In a statement issued Sunday in Abuja, NiMet predicted slight dust haze across the northern region, with thunderstorms likely in Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna states.

The North Central zone is expected to see mostly sunny skies, though isolated thunderstorms may sweep through Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, and Benue.

For the southern parts of the country, cloudy conditions will prevail, accompanied by thunderstorms especially in Cross River and Akwa Ibom, both in the morning and later in the day.

This weather pattern is expected to persist into midweek, with further thunderstorms anticipated in parts of Sokoto, Kebbi, and other areas.

NiMet also raised concerns over high temperatures across the country and advised the public to stay hydrated, seek cool environments, and exercise caution during periods of strong winds.
