A leading figure of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently confront the rising tide of kidnappings and worsening security challenges across the country.
Addressing journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye expressed concern that the gains achieved by security agencies under the present administration risk being undermined by the fresh wave of abductions and violent crimes.
Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker and member of the defunct APC Presidential Campaign Council, said the escalating incidents of kidnapping have become a serious source of anxiety for many Nigerians.
While commending the efforts of the president and security agencies in improving national security, he stressed that the recent surge in kidnapping calls for immediate and coordinated action.
“The kidnappers are not invisible. They are humans and their evil actions can be contained with proper intelligence and swift response,” he declared.
Oyintiloye further advocated for enhanced collaboration among security agencies, noting that greater synergy would strengthen the fight against criminal networks terrorising the country.
He also urged citizens to play their part by cooperating with law enforcement agencies, emphasising that security is a collective responsibility.
“The fight against insecurity cannot be left to government alone. Citizens must support the efforts by providing timely and credible information that can help dismantle these criminal operations,” he added.
As concerns over insecurity continue to mount, Oyintiloye’s call adds to the growing chorus of voices demanding urgent measures to restore peace and protect lives across the nation.
