The Presidency has firmly disowned the flurry of 2027 campaign billboards featuring President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu that have surfaced in Abuja and Kano.

In a statement released on Sunday, Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga expressed deep concern over the unauthorised political adverts, making it clear that President Tinubu has neither approved nor endorsed any re-election campaign ahead of the official schedule by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

“The President has not authorised any campaign or approved the use of his image or that of other government officials for any political promotion regarding 2027,” Onanuga emphasised.

The Presidency warned individuals and groups behind the premature campaigns to halt their activities immediately, cautioning that such actions risk undermining the integrity of the electoral process.

Reaffirming President Tinubu’s focus on leadership and governance, the statement assured Nigerians that any decision regarding the next election cycle will be made public at the appropriate time.
