President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and United States State Department Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, met in Paris on Thursday to deepen economic ties and address security challenges gripping parts of the African continent.

The crucial talks, revealed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, centred on strategies to secure lasting peace in the troubled eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, while also exploring fresh opportunities for economic collaboration between Africa and the United States.

The meeting underscored Nigeria’s growing role in shaping regional stability, as both leaders exchanged ideas on fostering development and reinforcing partnerships that drive prosperity.

Echoing the discussions, the United States Mission in Nigeria confirmed the engagement, noting that the dialogue reflects the enduring commitment between Washington and Abuja to promote peace, security, and sustainable growth across Africa.

President Tinubu, who continues to position Nigeria as a leading voice in continental affairs, emphasised the need for strong international alliances to tackle insecurity and unlock Africa’s vast economic potential.
