Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu has gifted Nwosu Isioma Sybil, the overall best graduating student of Lagos State University, a cash prize of ten million naira in recognition of her academic brilliance.
Nwosu, who earned a first class degree in Biochemistry with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.93, was celebrated during LASU’s convocation ceremony.
The governor, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, commended her relentless pursuit of excellence, describing her as a shining example of what hard work and focus can achieve.
While lauding Nwosu’s achievement, Sanwo Olu stressed the value of academic excellence in building a vibrant future, urging young people to pursue success not only in entertainment, fashion, and sports but also in education.
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to making quality education accessible, announcing a partnership with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to support students in state owned institutions.
Sanwo Olu also applauded LASU Vice Chancellor Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello for steering the institution toward academic distinction and producing graduates equipped to transform society.
“Education remains the foundation of our progress as a people. It shapes our society and prepares us to meet the demands of a changing world,” Sanwo Olu declared, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to empowering the next generation.
