South Africa’s U-20 national team has unveiled its final squad for the upcoming Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Egypt. The South Africans are drawn in a challenging group alongside Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, host nation Egypt, and Morocco.
Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles have assembled a 35-man squad for their final training camp in Abuja, which includes seven Europe-based players. Under the guidance of Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Nigerian team is targeting a ninth title in the competition’s history.
Beyond continental glory, there is an added incentive: the top four teams will secure qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in Chile later this year.
