The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), has secured a major boost for its nationwide drive following a strategic meeting with the leadership of the Nigerian Railway Corporation at its headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos.

During the high level courtesy visit, the Program Director and Chief Executive of PCNGI led his team on a tour of key railway facilities, including the historic railway yard, the Idu terminus, the new Lagos red line terminal, the ultra modern Mobolaji Johnson Station, and the NRC’s main maintenance workshop.

Also in the delegation was the Head of the Rural Electrification Agency’s National Electrification Program, as the team explored opportunities to strengthen PCNGI’s footprint, especially in the far northern regions of the country.

Discussions focused on immediate areas of collaboration such as capacity building, intermodal transport integration, and logistical support to accelerate PCNGI’s national penetration.

In a show of strong support, the Nigerian Railway Corporation graciously donated exterior space on its wagons across its national network to amplify awareness of the PCNGI.

In return, PCNGI pledged close cooperation and promised incentives to the NRC to deepen the partnership.

The engagement marks a significant step in leveraging Nigeria’s rail infrastructure to power the clean energy agenda, bringing the country closer to a future of affordable and accessible natural gas solutions.
