Despite soaring petrol prices nationwide, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has kept its pump price steady at N880 per litre in the Federal Capital Territory and N860 in Lagos.

NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye confirmed that the decision aligns with the company’s energy security mandate under the Petroleum Industry Act, positioning it as the supplier of last resort.

While major marketers now sell petrol between N930 and N990 per litre, NNPCL stations continue to offer lower prices, attracting more customers.

Dangote’s MRS stations recently adjusted their price to N950 per litre after the Dangote Refinery suspended petrol sales in Naira due to NNPCL’s feedstock policy.

NNPCL’s ability to maintain stable pricing is linked to its local refining operations, ensuring affordability despite fluctuations in crude oil prices and exchange rates.
