The World Bank has approved $1.08 billion in concessional financing to bolster education, nutrition, and community resilience in Nigeria.
The package includes $500 million for the Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Program, $80 million for Accelerating Nutrition Results in Nigeria (ANRIN 2.0), and another $500 million for the Hope for Quality Basic Education for All initiative.
These funds will enhance livelihood support, expand nutrition services for vulnerable groups, and strengthen foundational education nationwide.
World Bank Country Director Dr. Ndiamé Diop highlighted that the investment would spur economic growth and human capital development by improving education quality and supporting at-risk communities.
