The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has officially named the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, as the leader of the party in the region.
The decision was reached on Thursday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, the Forum cited Akume’s position as the highest-ranking APC member in the zone and his role in fostering party unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Forum also urged all party stakeholders, including Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, to recognize Akume’s leadership and collaborate to resolve internal disputes.
