A violent street fight broke out in Katampe, Abuja, during the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations, leaving several Fulani youths injured.
The clash, reportedly fueled by a dispute over girlfriends, quickly escalated as the rivals wielded dangerous weapons.
Two victims, identified as Isiaka Abubakar and Isiaka Mohammed from Ruga Katampe, were hospitalized at Jareal Hospital in Mpape.
Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident in a post on his X handle, revealing that the brawl erupted around 7:30 PM, causing panic among residents.
Police patrol teams responded swiftly, but the youths involved fled into the nearby bush before order was restored.
Eyewitnesses say such violent altercations have become a pattern during major celebrations in the area.
In response, community leaders, including the Sarkin Fulani and Ardo, have been summoned for a meeting with Fulani stakeholders on April 1 to address the recurring violence.
