Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has firmly denied reports suggesting he plans to join the All Progressives Congress.
In a post on X, Obi dismissed the claims as baseless, stating that he does not engage in toxic politics or manipulation.
“For the avoidance of doubt, both now and in the future, I am not a member of the APC, nor am I an intending member,” he said.
Obi emphasized that political parties should assess candidates based on competence, capacity, and compassion rather than propaganda.
He also weighed in on the political journey of former Labour Party member Valentine Ozigbo, stressing that aspirants should be judged on merit, not controversy.
As the Anambra governorship election approaches, Obi called for free and fair primaries, urging all parties to uphold transparency and justice.
He said Nigeria must reject toxic politics to achieve true democracy.
