The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has announced that several landmark projects will be inaugurated in May to mark President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
Speaking after inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja on Thursday, Wike highlighted the rehabilitation of the Abuja International Conference Centre by Julius Berger.
He assured that the facility would be restored to world-class standards with a maintenance contract in place to prevent future deterioration.
He also listed key road projects, including two interchanges on Wole Soyinka Way at Murtala Mohammed Way and Shehu Shagari Way, as well as the N16 billion interchange at NICON Junction, linking Maitama, Katampe, and Gishiri.
In addition, several infrastructure projects in satellite towns will be commissioned.
These include the A2 Pai rural roads in Kwali, Aguma Palace Road in Gwagwalada, and the ongoing dualization of the Ushafa to Military Checkpoint Road in Bwari.
Wike assured that all projects are fully funded under the 2024 budget, which remains valid until June.
He also confirmed that the 2025 budget had been submitted to President Tinubu, expressing confidence that the National Assembly would approve it to sustain development efforts.
