The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed 4,000 personnel across the Federal Capital Territory to ensure a peaceful Eid Fitr celebration.
FCT Commandant Olusola Odumosu, in a statement on Thursday, said the security operation would cover prayer grounds, markets, shopping malls, motor parks, and key government buildings.
Specialised units, including the Female Strike Force and Counter Terrorism Squad, will be on duty to prevent any threats.
Covert surveillance teams have also been assigned to monitor high risk areas, including uncompleted buildings suspected of harboring criminals.
Odumosu warned that security breaches would not be tolerated and urged officers to remain vigilant.
The NSCDC called on residents to stay alert and report suspicious activities, assuring them of a safe and secure celebration.
