The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged FCT athletes to strive for glory as they gear up for the 2025 National Sports Festival in Ogun State.
Speaking during the presentation of the Torch of Unity at his office in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike, represented by his Chief of Staff, Chidi Amadi, encouraged the athletes to train rigorously and bring home medals.
He reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and sports development, promising recognition for exceptional performances.
The Director of Sports, FCTA, Luka Istifanus, assured the minister that FCT athletes were fully prepared to compete at the highest level.
The Torch of Unity, a symbol of strength and national togetherness, will continue its journey across Nigeria’s 36 states ahead of the festival set for May 16 to May 30, 2025.
