The Christ the King Catholic (CKC), Laity Council has brought comfort and hope to inmates at the Kuje Correctional Facility as part of activities to mark this year’s Laity Week.
During the visit, members of the council shared prayers, gifts, and financial assistance to support those held for bailable offences, seeking their release in the spirit of the Lenten season.
The outreach embodied the Christian call to serve, reflecting the words of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
Leading the delegation were the Prison Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Barr. Victor Nyoro; CKC Laity President, Mrs. Ene Sule; Vice President, Mr. Solomon Fache; Secretary, Bro. Victor Yusuf, KSM; and Amb. Constance Jacobs (001), alongside other CKC parishioners.
The visit served as a reminder of the power of faith, compassion, and community in transforming lives.
Through their presence, the CKC Laity Council reaffirmed the Church’s mission of love and mercy, offering inmates renewed hope for a better future.
