Popular businessman Obinna Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has announced plans to set up a tricycle assembly plant in Ebonyi State to boost local manufacturing and job creation.
Speaking in Abakaliki after a meeting with Governor Francis Nwifuru, Iyiegbu said his decision to expand into Ebonyi was driven by the state’s improved security, infrastructure, and business-friendly policies under the current administration.
“There is a peaceful environment, enhanced security, and improved infrastructure, making Ebonyi a preferred investment destination,” he said.
The planned plant will focus on assembling and selling tricycles, creating employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth.
“As businessmen, we cannot continue investing in other states while neglecting Ebonyi.
“One of our key partners is from here, and we are committed to supporting the government’s efforts in industrialisation and agriculture,” he added.
Iyiegbu assured that work on the project would begin in the coming months, promising visible progress soon.
