Operatives of the Scorpion Squad have arrested a notorious kidnapper, Shaibu Alhaji Ahijo, who had been declared wanted by the Department of State Services and other security agencies.
Ahijo, 25, was apprehended at Nyanya Under Bridge on March 24 around 6:00 p.m. following a tip-off.
During interrogation, he admitted to participating in several kidnappings across the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Benue States.
He also confessed to collecting ₦1 million in ransom from his last operation.
The suspect further revealed that three of his gang members, identified as Musa, Haruna, and Babangida, were killed by security operatives during a failed kidnapping attempt in Benue State.
He had traveled to Abuja to regroup with his gang before his arrest.
Ahijo remains in custody as investigations continue. Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the arrest.
