A 37-year-old woman, Linda Stephen, has asked a Kaduna Customary Court to end her marriage, claiming her husband, Felix Stephen, has an uncontrollable sexual urge that she can no longer endure.
Linda, who resides in Ungwan Sunday, Kaduna, told the court on Tuesday that Felix frequently forces himself on her and turns violent whenever she resists.
“I cannot take it anymore. He demands sex excessively and does not stop even when I am crying. Sometimes, it lasts from midnight until morning,” she said.
According to her, Felix’s behavior has made their six-year marriage unbearable.
She also accused him of beating her, even in front of their two children, whenever she refuses his advances.
She revealed that she left their home three months ago and has refused to return despite pleas from his relatives.
However, Felix, who admitted his actions, begged the court to save their marriage.
“I love my wife and do not want a divorce. I have pleaded with her several times, and I am ready to control my urge,” he said.
He also told the court that he had taken his uncles and friends to her family home to reconcile with her, but she refused to listen.
Judge John Dauda adjourned the case until May 6, urging the couple to seek reconciliation while maintaining peace.
