Pope Francis is making steady progress in his recovery from bilateral pneumonia, showing reduced dependence on oxygen support, the Holy See Press Office has confirmed.

The Pontiff, who has been receiving treatment at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital since February 14, no longer requires mechanical ventilation at night and is using less high-flow oxygen during the day.

Despite his hospitalization, the Pope remains engaged in prayer, therapy, and official duties.

He did not receive visitors on Friday but stayed focused on his recovery and work commitments.

The Vatican has assured that the Sunday Angelus will proceed as planned unless unexpected health concerns arise. While there is no official discharge date yet, his improving condition suggests he may soon return to the Vatican.

Medical updates will continue to be provided as needed, with the next bulletin expected on Monday.
