Nigerian singer Naira Marley has testified at the Coroner’s inquest into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, denying any involvement in the tragedy.
Speaking virtually before a Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Marley insisted there were no disputes between him and Mohbad, claiming their record label contract remained unfulfilled due to disagreements with the singer’s manager.
He dismissed allegations of threats or harassment, citing a police report that cleared him.
However, Mohbad’s lawyer, Oluwasanmi Falade, challenged Marley’s statements, confirming a dispute over unpaid royalties and recounting an alleged attack on Mohbad at Lekki Beach by music promoter Sam Larry.
Following these revelations, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi ordered Sam Larry to appear before the court on April 11.
The court also requested the pathologist’s autopsy report and summoned Mohbad’s driver as a witness.
