Abuja’s Karu Bridge has once again become the scene of a terrifying accident, less than 24 hours after a deadly tanker explosion rattled the area.
In this latest tragedy, a trailer with failed brakes rammed into a Hijet and a Prado Jeep near the Nigerian Air Force Barracks, sending shockwaves through the already shaken community.
Eyewitnesses described the crash as a nightmare, with twisted metal and shattered glass littering the road as emergency responders battled to clear the wreckage.
A distressed road user, watching the grim aftermath, could only mutter, “We need divine intervention.”
With two major crashes in quick succession, residents and commuters are raising alarm over the bridge’s safety.
Many are demanding urgent government action, from stricter vehicle inspections to enhanced road maintenance and better traffic control measures.
Authorities are yet to provide a detailed response, but as investigations continue, one thing is clear—without immediate intervention, Karu Bridge remains a ticking time bomb.
