Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his family vacated the Government House on Wednesday morning following the state of emergency declared by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The declaration, announced on Tuesday, was aimed at restoring order and preventing a collapse of governance after months of political turmoil in the state.
Despite the situation, daily life in Port Harcourt remained largely unaffected as markets and businesses operated as usual.
While some residents backed Tinubu’s decision, others condemned it as unconstitutional.
