Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has revoked the land title of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja over the party’s failure to pay ground rent for 20 years.

A letter signed by the Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, confirmed that the Right of Occupancy for the plot in Central Area, Cadastral Zone A00, had been withdrawn due to PDP’s non-compliance with payment obligations from January 2006 to January 2025.

Despite repeated notices, the party failed to settle the debt, prompting Wike to invoke the Land Use Act of 1978 to reclaim the land for the FCT Administration.

The revoked property houses the abandoned 12-storey PDP National Secretariat, a project initially valued at N16 billion.

The structure remained incomplete even after the party raised over N62 billion through fundraisers and form sales.
